Transportation Services

Welcome to the Lake Elsinore Unified School District's Transportation Services Department, where student safety is our top priority. Our dedicated drivers are committed to getting our students to school on time and prepared to learn.

Our mission is to support the educational process by providing safe and efficient transportation to the students of our district; to work collaboratively with staff district-wide to ensure student transportation prepares the student for learning and is a productive extension of the classroom; and to encourage and sustain trust with our parents as well as the members of our community.

Our department provides home-to-school transportation for students that live within the specified eligibility zone of their school. The Board of Trustees has established the following busing eligibility distances:
  • Kindergarten students living beyond 0.75 mile
  • Elementary School students living beyond 1.5 miles
  • Middle School students living beyond 2.5 miles
  • High School students living beyond 3.5 miles
Our fleet consists of 96 buses, 19 of which run on clean-burning natural gas. We transport more than 5,000 students daily. During the 2007-08 school year, our buses traveled more than 1.2 million miles.

In addition to serving general education students, we provide transportation for students with special needs. In 2007-08, our buses traveled more than 440,000 miles transporting special needs students curb-to-curb.

National statistics show riding the bus is the safest way to get to school and we are proud of our proven track record in transporting our students in a safe and efficient manner.
