Welcome to Terra Cotta Middle School!

I am Mr. Guillen, the newly appointed Assistant Principal of TCMS. I am excited to be a member of the Mustang family, and I am looking forward to supporting Dr. Nash in making this a great school year!

I’ve spent all of my professional career working with secondary students, and I have been fortunate enough to be a classroom teacher for various school districts throughout the state of California for the last six years, most recently in the San Francisco Bay Area. While I may be new to Lake Elsinore Unified School District, I am a proud former Terra Cotta Mustang myself! Lake Elsinore is the community that I was raised in, went to school in, and where I have many of my fondest memories. It is a humbling opportunity to come home and give back to the community that gave so much to me.

As the Assistant Principal, I will work diligently with our teachers and staff to carry out the mission and vision of Terra Cotta Middle School. I believe that, as a school, we play a fundamental role in positioning students for their future success, and as a community, it is our responsibility to support our students together. I am committed to working closely with teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our students are provided with a safe, positive, and effective learning environment in order to prepare them for the next phase of their education career. Given that last year was challenging for educators, families, and students due to distance learning guidelines and the impacts of a global pandemic, I am eager to see students thrive on our campus.

¡Bienvenidos a Terra Cotta Middle School!

Soy Mr. Guillén, el recién nombrado Subdirector de TCMS. ¡Estoy emocionado de ser miembro de este equipo Mustang, y espero poder apoyar a la Dr. Nash para hacer de este un gran año escolar!

He pasado gran parte de mi carrera profesional trabajando con estudiantes de secundaria, y he tenido la suerte de ser maestro para varios distritos escolares en el estado de California durante los últimos seis años, recientemente en el Área de la Bahía de San Francisco. Aunque soy nuevo en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Lake Elsinore, ¡soy un orgulloso ex estudiante de Terra Cotta! Lake Elsinore es la comunidad en la que me crié, fui a la escuela y donde tengo muchos de mis mejores recuerdos. Es una gran oportunidad volver a casa y retribuir a la comunidad que me dio tanto.

Como subdirector, trabajaré diligentemente con nuestros maestros y personal para llevar a cabo la misión y visión de la escuela secundaria Terra Cotta. Creo que, como escuela, jugamos un papel fundamental en posicionar a los estudiantes para su futuro y, como comunidad, es nuestra responsabilidad apoyar a nuestros estudiantes juntos. Estoy comprometido a trabajar en estrecha colaboración con los maestros, los padres y los miembros de la comunidad para garantizar que nuestros estudiantes reciban un entorno de aprendizaje seguro, positivo y eficaz a fin de prepararlos para la siguiente fase de su carrera educativa. Dado que el año pasado fue un desafío para los educadores, las familias y los estudiantes debido a las guías de aprendizaje a distancia y los impactos de una pandemia global, estoy ansioso por ver a los estudiantes sobresalir en sus estudios.
